Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 has died The next Turtles movie is from Seth Rogen for Netflix - Hollywood News
Many viewers make the decision whether to watch a sequel or not based on how they liked the previous part in the series. Is also understandable. However, this has the consequence that the bad parts of a series are often much more successful than the stronger successors.
It's no different with the two “Turtles” real film reboot films: Many fans were really looking forward to Rob Lieberman's “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” in 2014 - also because the martial arts CGI turtles are already in the trailer just looked really cool. The result: The film became a hit - a budget of $ 125 million was set against worldwide revenues of $ 485 million.
It didn’t matter that most of the fans and most of the film reviews received the film rather poorly in the end.
Instead, the price for the dirty start had to be paid two years later by the sequel “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out Of The Shadows” Although the producers brought in Dave Green, a director who himself actually got excited about the Turtles and delivered a really fun blockbuster, the sequel earned a quarter of a billion dollars less than its predecessor.

In view of the miserable box office result, the hope that there might still be a “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3” remained for a surprisingly long time, although one would really make no financial sense for the studio. So then nothing more came up.
NETFLIX REBOOT INSTEAD OF CINEMA TRILOGY
Instead, it was finally announced that Seth Rogen as a producer should save the Turtles - with a CGI animation reboot for the streaming service Netflix. Since then, it has not been communicated exactly when the film should come, but it already has its own page on Netflix Germany - so you can search for it and set up a reminder. An appearance sometime in the second half of 2021 still seems realistic.
I don't know about you guys, but I really enjoyed the 2007 Turtles CGI movie "TMNT" a lot. Also, one of the few details known about the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot is Jeff Rowe's engagement as director. And before that, he wrote a whole series of episodes of the “Twin Peaks” spoof “Welcome to Gravity Falls” - and this is one of the best, cleverest, and funniest animated series of the past decade.
Sure, after "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out Of The Shadows" was so much better than the first part, I would have liked to see where the series would have gone. But there are a number of really funny, pop culture experienced people involved in the new CGI reboot. I wouldn't know straight away which of the two films I would choose if I had the choice.
