The Witcher: Season 2 filming is ahead - Hollywood News

Netflix production has begun today with the recording of the new episodes.

The month of August was chosen by Netflix to begin production of the second season of The Witcher, again starring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan. The chosen day had been next Monday, August 17, however, there has been a change in planning and filming has begun today.

In March, the series based on Andrzej Sapkowski's work had to paralyze his filming, with greater haste than others since one of its cast members had tested positive for COVID-19; this is the case of actor Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones), who will bring Nivellen to life in the title. But now, almost five months later, the team re-enters to return to work.

One of the directors of the new episodes, Stephen Surjik, has been in charge of announcing the news through a post on his Instagram account in which you can see the claque of the start of the shoot and with the following description: "3 minutes to start and take off for our second season on Witcher S2. Everyone is being cautious but the mood is high. They are looking for a new communication system, reducing close contact between the equipment. Thanks to Matt, Kelly Lauren, and Netflix."

Season 2 of The Witcher features new additions to the cast, including Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen; Kim Bodnia as Vesemir; Yasen Atour as Coen; Agnes Bjorn as Vereena; Paul Bullion as Lambert; Thue Posted Rasmussen as Eskel; and Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia.
