Jensen Ackles, or what's the same, Dean Winchester in Supernatural, joins the cast of The Boys for its season 3, the Amazon Prime Video superhero series. It was the actor himself who yesterday announced that he would bring to life Soldier Boy, the original superhero and that, after fighting in World War II, he is a famous icon and a pillar of American culture.

In a subsequent statement aired by Amazon Prime Video, Eric Kripke, showrunner and executive producer of The Boys, commented on the addition of Jensen Ackles to Season 3 of The Boys: "As a child, I had a crazy and impossible dream: to provide Jensen Ackles with paid employment. I'm glad to say that dream has come true. Jensen is an amazing actor, and even a better person, he smells like hot chocolate cookies, and I consider him a brother. As Soldier Boy, the first superhero, he will bring a lot of humor, excitement, and danger to the role. I can't wait to be on set with him again, and bring some supernatural to The Boys."
Season 3 of The Boys was announced on July 3 on the Amazon Prime Video panel of Comic-Con @Home. The series is one of the big bets on the streaming platform, which has also found great support from audiences around the world.
