The Batman: The co-ist claims Bruce Wayne's trauma will be explored in a fun and surprising ways - Hollywood News


The Batman, the new version of the Dark Knight directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, is one of the most anticipated films of the coming years. The film plans to reach U.S. movie theaters in 2021 and, although the film's story is kept secret, some team members have advanced some details about the project. 

Mattson Tomlin, co-guide of The Batman alongside Reeves, has stressed that the film will talk about Bruce Wayne's trauma in surprising ways:

I think he looks at Batman as someone who's been through that trauma, and then all he's doing is a reaction to that. Instead of shying away from that, I think this film leans toward that in funny and surprising ways

"I think that's all I can say without being yelled at," he jokes. The writer, on the other hand, has also stated that Reeves is a director who always asks, "What is the soul of this character?"

We'll have to wait and see what this version of Batman looks like. At the moment, the cast Reeves has created for the film is already quite encouraging. In addition to Pattinson, the film features Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/Enigma, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone and Zoo Kravitz as Selina
