It seems that little by little House of the Dragon, the prequel to the acclaimed Game of Thrones series, is taking shape. Although the series is still in the pre-production phase, the team would already be looking for the actor who would bring to life one of its main protagonists: Daemon Targaryen.

According to The Iuminerdi, casting managers are in the middle of finding an actor, between 40 and 50 years old, who fits the following description they have provided of the character:

King Viserys' younger brother, Daemon was not born without ambition for the throne despite being in the line of succession. He's less methodical and more impetuous. Not to mention that you get bored easily... stumbling from one distraction to another with the subconscious but the singular obsession with earning the love and acceptance of his brother the king. But, even as the most experienced warrior of his time, he hesitates between the vile and the heroic, making him the true rogue of the series

Daemon's relationship with his brother Viserys is one of the main themes of George R.R. Martin's novel 'The Rogue Prince'. The trajectory of this character spans different eras; since he was considered one of the most dangerous men in Westeros by conquering the Region of the Stepped Stones and declaring himself king; until later at King's Landing, where he dedicated his life to serving his brother Viserys. Daemon died at age 49; this would suggest that the title would be set in the final phase of his life and could be centered on Dance with the Dragons.

George R.R. Martin, Vince Gerardis, Ryan Condal, and Miguel Sapochnik are executive producers of the prequel, and Condal and Sapochnik also serve as showrunners for the adaptation of the novel to the small screen. Production expected to begin shooting in early 2021 until December 2021, and in 2022 the title premiered with ten episodes on HBO.
