Mad Max: Furiosa will have Jodie Comer replacing Charlize Theron as the protagonist
A few hours ago we had some good news regarding George Miller's confirmation that the movie Furiosa, a spin-off focused on the character who debuted in Mad Max: Road Fury, is being worked on, but we knew Charlize Theron, the actress who played this role, would not return.
Once Miller has decided to put aside her original idea of digitally rejuvenating Theron, the candidate dance has begun to emerge, with Anya Taylor-Joy being one of the first to sound, although with this confirmation it may really be part of the prequel and not as the main character.
Being a prequel to the character's life before Fury Road, the team has been looking for a younger actress than Theron to replace her. As we read in Screenrant, it seems that the new Furious Imperator will be Jodie Comer, the actress known mainly for her appearance in the series Killing Eve as the twisted murderer Villanelle, a role for which she won an Emmy 2019, although it may also sound like your face to the having been Rey's mother in Star Wars: Episode IX - Skywalker's Rise flashbacks.
As for his future projects, his participation in the strange Free Guy stands out with Ryan Reynolds, in which they will be part of a video game in the style of Grand Theft Auto, or the historical drama of Ridley Scott, The Last Duel.
